Teacher Week Blog Hoppin: 5 Things

I am ready to join my first Blog Hoppin' Teacher week. What a great way to get to know all the incredible bloggers out there. Make sure to head on over to Blog Hoppin' to read more about Teacher Week. I am personally excited for tomorrow and reading all about make ahead meals. I need to add some delish to my crockpot repitoire.

Well 5 things about me...Here goes!

#1: I have an incredibly supportive family. Oldest of four, with three younger brothers made me who I am today. I am so thankful for each one of them. I have the greatest parents in the world who are my biggest fans and I love them very much. My husband, Tim... is my best friend. 5 years and it just keeps getting better. I could not imagine life without any of them.

Oh and I am so excited I want to shout it from the rooftops! I am going to be an aunt! I can't wait to snuggle that new little baby in our family. January can't come soon enough.
#2: I love being in the sun. In fact, when I am at the pool I never actually go in the water. I love just reading and soaking in the rays. Ahhh....summer.

#3: I love to bake and watch The Food Network. Secretly, I talk to myself sometimes and pretend I am cooking for an audience. Is that insane? I hope not...

#4: My favorite season is Fall...pumpkins, spices, crisp air. I love it all!

#5: I am a BIG kid. I love reading children's books and hope to write one someday. I love watching kid movies...in fact they are my preferred choice. And don't get me started on DISNEY!

Make sure to head over to Blog Hoppin' to check out all the posts this week.

Sunday Scoop {August 30th}

I love linking up with Teaching Trio to share what's happening on Sundays. Make sure you click the icon on the left to head to their blog. We made it through a whole week with students. There is NOTHING like first week of school teacher tired...Sleeping in until 7:00 felt glorious. I am planning on posting our big library reveal pictures as soon as I can catch up on my lesson planning. I am excited to share the pictures of our library space because I just love how it all turned out!

This Sunday I am in for some relaxing time with my husband and brother. I will be making "Sunday dinner" (roast chicken, gravy, vegetables, and homemade biscuits), which will remind me of racing into my grandmother's house after church to mouth-watering smells of comfort. I am so excited! I can taste it already!

Don't forget to grab this week's bible verse printable. :)

Especially as soon as the kids arrive. Teaching in the library is a delight and I am excited to see all my readers back in full swing. Here's what is on the scoop for today. Make sure to link up with Teaching Trio today!

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Don't forget to download this week's bible verse freebie. :) I hope these will be a weekly encouragement. What a great reminder to start the week as we go back to work. Practice patience and choose love.

Sunday Scoop {August 16}

Well it's official. The LAST Sunday before school starts. I know that it will just be teachers back this week, but this signifies summer ending along with things like eating at a normal pace, sleeping in, and lounging around the house... I just pray that I can fall asleep at a decent time tonight and not have my mind race 100 miles an hour visualizing the checklist of getting everything ready for school. Here is this week's scoop and bible verse printable. Happy Sunday!

Choose to be POSITIVE

This summer has been such an inspiring one as I have started to tap into the power of social media for professional development. Teachers are absolutely amazing. I love the positive energy and passion that comes through when we talk about what we love. Recently I was lucky enough to listen to two inspiring messages about positivity in the classroom and in life (Thanks Angie from Lucky Little Learners, Tiffany from One Fab Teacher, and Sheila Jane from Sheila Jane Teaching).

They inspired this little freebie that I hope can serve as a reminder the power of positivity in the classroom. Each day when those kiddos walk through our doors, we have the power to choose to be positive. When something does not go as planned...choose positive. When others are being negative...choose positive. When a child acts out...choose positive. When you are having a rough morning...choose positive. It's not always easy, but it is a great reminder. Choose to be a light. Make a difference. It is a choice. Choose positive!

Happy Friday! Click on the image to download your own copy today. :)

Currently {AUGUST}

I am a little (or A LOT) late to the Currently party. I have loved reading Farley's "Currently" posts from Oh Boy Fourth Grade and am excited to join in on the fun.

Listening: For all you Elvis fans out there...this is one I hadn't heard until my dad burned a cd made up of songs from one of his live shows. Poke Salad Annie. It will surely bring a smile to your face as you channel your inner southern self.  I love Elvis. He was my first crush at age 9. I was certainly devastated to find out that my crush was a dead guy...

Listen to the King here:

Loving: There is just nothing like mornings in the summer. The pace and ability to drink coffee...just drink and not guzzle. I LOVE mornings in the summer!

Thinking: I miss my family in GA and am excited to see them this weekend.

Wanting: Waiting for my 2-day PRIME arrival. I can't wait to read this book!

Needing: PLEASE... S-L-O-W down SUMMER!!!

B2S RAK: I bought some adorable speech bubble post-it notes and am planning on sneaking them onto the desks of my coworkers this year.

Have a great August everyone!
